Portraits of the butterfly painted in oil

GALLERY

The butterfly is a living sculpture of stained glass. I have always enjoyed the patterns of color outlined in black by the butterfly's veins.

The inspiration and the credit for these beautiful butterflies comes from Butterfly World in Broward County. Butterfly World has the most beautiful indoor/outdoor aviary for butterflies, birds and flowers. The garden is a delight to the senses. Color is everywhere. Beautiful music calms the mood and enhances the setting. Adults and children hunt with their cameras for just the right shot.

The Piano Key butterflies were the most plentiful and they were on an important mission. Where ever there was one there were usually others dancing in the air together or in wait. I called the center painting "Butterfly Seduction". The original oil painting is 36" x 48". The four butterfly portraits pictured on each side measure 24" x 24".

"Green Tailed Jay" - oil on canvas 24" wide x 24" high
